Italian Course Island of Elba: The School
The school is located in Procchio, a
stone's throw from the Bay of Procchio, one of the most beautiful
spots on the island, 10 km. west from Portoferraio. To get the
most out of Elba's delicious climate, classes, conducted by the
same expert teachers of Florence, are usually held outdoors, in
secluded and shady spots. The school is based in a 3-star hotel
with a very pleasant, friendly atmosphere and is open from May
to October with group or individual courses, and offers a rich
programme of social, sport and leisure activities.
The school (the sister school of the school
in Florence) transfers a part of its qualified teaching staff
to the island, and because its well-tested teaching method gives
beginning and advanced students alike a chance to learn or perfect
their knowledge of the Italian language. Asking information,
personally choosing and ordering one's favourite dishes at a
restaurant, engaging in a pleasant conversation in Italian with
the inhabitants of the island; this is surely the best way of
spending a pleasant and easy holiday, without always having
to feel that "you're just a tourist". In an effort
to get most out of Elba's delicious climate, classes, which
are of course as seriously and expertly conducted as in Florence,
are generally held outdoors, in secluded and shady spots, and
when necessary in rooms made available by the hotels.
The course coordinator and the teaching
staff are always there to make sure that you don't stop learning
Italian when classes end. On the contrary, practice of the language
continues throughout the rest of the day, albeit in a more relaxed
fashion, while you're lying on the beach, during meals and excursions,
and in the evening in the bars, restaurants and discoteques of
the island.
Different types of accommodation have been
selected to make participants feel as comfortable as possible
during their stay. Single or double rooms with breakfast or
half-board in hotels of different categories and apartments
in and around Procchio. Accommodation also available in Marciana
Marina, a beautiful village 6 km. from Procchio.
