Italian Course - Milan Info
Milan struts proud in the world of fashion
and fills many a pocket in the world of finance. It is the sophisticated
second city of Italy, home to the country's greatest designers,
largest industries and most powerful banks. Ah yes, it's all Gucci
and glamour here. But, despite being no rival for the artistic
wonderlands of cities like Florence or Siena, Milan has fared
well in the cultural stakes and today offers the visitor plenty
of grand palazzos, sumptuous concert halls and elegant cafés.
With an efficient public transport system whisking you to all
these places by metro, tram and bus, you'll still have time for
some delicious Milanese food that typically includes polenta and
risotto - to say nothing of a great range of bar snacks to be
washed down by your early evening aperitivo.

Italian Course Milan: The School
The school is located in an art nouveau
building and is close to the city centre, the main station, and
also a variety of restaurants. The 20 classrooms are quiet and
bright and are equipped with audio and visual facilities. The
school also has a students’ lounge and self-study area,
and within just a few minutes are a library, multi-media facilities
and internet café. The school has been running a wide range
of courses for many years and is open for all levels, all year
round. All teaching programmes have been carefully constructed
with the aim of teaching Italian to the students and giving them
the confidence they need in all manner of everyday situations.
Out and About
Shopping is, believe it or not, something of a religion in Milan.
If you’ve got to have those Gucci’s, why mess around
– just head straight for the Golden Quad, or Quadrilatero
d’Oro, and you’ll find a mecca of designer shops
with designer prices to match. However it is the Piazza del
Duomo that marks the heart of the city, flanked by its stunning
14th century cathedral. Art lovers will find Da Vinci’s
Last Supper in the Cenacolo Vinciano while music lovers need
look no further than the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. But if
you can get your hands on some tickets, La Scala opera house
is the icing on the cake. Unless, of course, you’re there
for the sport – in which case you won’t be disappointed
by the Monza race track, home of the Italian Grand Prix every
September, or the regular clashes between football rivals AC
Milan and F.C. Inter.
